MINUTES OF RICHARDS CASTLE (SHROPSHIRE) PARISH COUNCIL EXTRAORDINARY MEETING HELD ONLINE AT 7.30 PM ON TUESDAY 25 AUGUST 2020
PRESENT: Cllr. H Salwey (Chairman); Cllr. D Ayres (Vice Chairman); Cllr. C Giles; and Cllr. A Hall.
IN ATTENDANCE: Ward Cllr. V Parry; Mr R Hewitt, Clerk. There were no members of the public present.
20/32 Apologies – Cllr. A Cowell and Cllr. R Smith.
20/33 Declarations of Members Interest and Written Requests for Dispensation – None.
20/34 To invite views and discussion from members of the parish – There were no matters raised.
20/35 Ward Councillor Report – Ward Cllr. Parry noted that resurfacing on the B4361 had not gone beyond Overton leaving the bad section by the entrance to Moor Park School. The Chairman said drains continue not to work on the B45361 by the entrance to the school, allowing surface water to flood the road in the dip, and Ward Cllr. Parry kindly agreed to follow this up with highways. The Clerk was asked to email photos and video showing surface water running past the drains to Cllr. Parry. A request was made for highways to repaint the white lining on local roads, and for highways to look at the piping requested at Station Road, Woofferton to fix a long-standing drainage problem.
20/36 Financial items
a) Annual Governance Statement – Approved.
b) Parish council accounts for the year ended 31 March 2020 – Approved.
c) Review risk schedule – Approved.
d) The following payments were agreed: K Adams, internal audit 2019-20 (£65.00); Boy Thorne Garden Services, grass maintenance (£252.00); and Hitrees, environmental maintenance (£168.00).
e) Cheques for share of domain name and website hosting (£42.50) and share of donation to village hall for installation of wifi (£66.21) will be re-issued.
20/37 Highway Items/ Amenity Items/ Footpath Items
There are currently no outstanding environmental maintenance jobs. Environmental maintenance work will be reviewed for Spring 2021. See 20/35 for highway matters.
